Tonight's shoot off

Each day during the Long Range High Power Championships, there is a shoot off that takes place at the end of regulation competition. As of right now, the individual matches are done, but the team matches are still firing away.

In the shoot off, the top finisher in relay within the three rifle categories will compete against each other for the championship.

As mentioned in an earlier blog post, the three matches are the Leech Cup Match with any rifle metallic sights, the Porter Trophy Match with service rifles, and the Andrus Trophy Match with Palma Rifles.

With four relays and three categories, 12 competitors will battle it out in tonight’s shoot off.

Competing in the Leech Cup Match:

Sherri Hurd from Fort Benning, GA
Brandon Green from Fort Benning, GA
Kent Reeve from Cary, NC

Competing in the Porter Trophy Match:
Samuel Hartsock from Mansfield, OH
Scott Grant from Fort Mitchell, AL
Joe Sopko from Macungie, PA
David Kerin from Indiana, PA

Competing in the Andrus Trophy Match:
James O’Connell from Alameda, CA
Nick Mowrer from Ramsay, MT
Eddie Newman from Eldridge, IA
Bruce O’Brien from Mcalester, OK

Leech High Senior is Gerald Sanders with a score of 199-7x; High Grand Senior is Middleton Tompkins with a score of 197-11x.

Andrus High Junior is Nick Mower with a score of 199-7X and a shoot-off score of 91-0X; High Senior is Eddie Newman with a score of 199-7X and a shoot-off score of 95-3X.
