Olympic Update: Women's 10m Air Rifle, Men's 10m Air Pistol

For Team USA, Jamie Beyerle placed fourth (with a total score of 499.8) and Emily Caruso placed 15th.

Americans Jason Turner placed fourth, and Brian Beaman fifth; both had a total score of 682.0 and had a tiebreaking shootoff that came down to 10.5 for Turner and 10.3 for Beaman.

Beyerle won the NRA Smallbore Prone Rifle Championship (Critchfield Trophy) in 2004. She was also the the Junior Champion in the National Smallbore Rifle 3-Position Championships (Cobb Memorial Trophy) every year from 2000 to 2004, and Metallic Sights Champion in the NRA Smallbore 3-Position National Championship (Krilling Trophy) every year from 2002 to 2005. (She's won several NRA national titles; she's also won the Austin Trophy, the Browning Trophy, the Gillies Memorial Trophy, the Hoppe Memorial Trophy, the Peters Cartridge Company Trophy, the Remington Trophy, the Whittington Trophy, the Putman Memorial Trophy, and the Winchester Trophy.) She'll be competing again at the Women's 3-Position 50m Rifle event on Thursday.

Caruso was a member of the Blackhawk team that won second place at the 2005 NRA 3-Position Team Championship.

Turner was the NRA International Indoor Free Pistol Champion (Viking Trophy) in 2004. He'll be shooting again for the Men's 50m Pistol event on Tuesday.
