Captain Philip Hemphill narrows out a win

NRA National Police Shooting Championship legend Captain Philip Hemphill won the NRA Distinguished Revolver Match today when the scores went final. His score of 281-7X was just enough to edge James Lenardson of Toledo, Ohio, to capture the victory. Lenardson finished the match with a 280-8X. Earlier in the day he took the third spot in the 2008 Harry Reeves Memorial Revolver match.

The winner of that match, Keith Hanzel, of Fredericksburg, VA, took third place in the Distinguished Revolver Match with a score of 278-5X.

And now, just to show that we don’t just honor the top shooters in the match. Here’s a competitor that finished in the middle of the pack. Kent Finlay placed 217 when he posted a 229-0X.
