Today is the first actual day where competitor’s scores count for the Smallbore phase. It’s the 3-Postion Metallic Sight Championship, which can easily be considered the more difficult to win than the Any Sight Championship. However, the person who wins the Metallic doesn’t usually win the overall 3-Position Championship. At least this was the case in the few years that I’ve attended the National Championship.
The cause of this, at least from what I’ve gathered from talking to a few competitors, is how difficult it can be to maintain a high level of concentration through the Metallic and Any Sight Championship. So we shall see.
Today’s going to be beautiful. They expect sunny skies with a high of like 92. Steve’s working on a feature today and I’ll try to keep you all up to date with how the scoring is faring.
Happy shooting!
