The Whistler Boy Match took place early this morning and was finished at about 11 a.m. The Alexandria Junior Rifle Team won the match with a score of 1871-67X. The two man team from Pennsylvania was comprised of David Sloan and Thomas Santelli, with coach Terry Lightner.
The team of Heather Greathouse and Laszlo Bogar (the Ferry Brook Junior Shooters) finished in second place with a score of 1855-50X.
In third place was the American Legion Post 128, with a score of 1850-50X. Caitlin Morrissey and Michael Awalt were the two team members.
Each team in the Whistler Match consisted of two junior competitors and an optional team coach and captain. Each individual fired 20 shots in each position (prone, standing and kneeling) with metallic sights at both 50 and 100 yards. There were 37 teams who shot in the match.
Results are not yet final.
All ammunition in this match was donated by Eley, and was also sponsored by Zanders Sporting Goods.
