Who is Dan McCabe?

This morning I was able to locate Dan McCabe on the range before his squadding time on the firing line. The 22-year-old is from Whitman, Mass. and is an unclassified shooter. In prepartion to coming at Camp Perry, he said that he shot outdoors and just worked on the basics of shooting, including the hold. Even though the conditions are windier than he is used to shooting in, he is holding his spot in third place overall coming into today's competitions, with a score of 4775-25X.

Most other competitors and followers of competitive smallbore rifle prone shooting have been suprised of Dan's success at Camp Perry, espeically for being unclassified. He is suprised himself, of how well he has done in the prone matches. The fact that he has come from behind to do so well in the competition as an unclassified shooter has people begging the question "Who is Dan McCabe?" This hasn't stopped Dan from doing his best during the matches and shooting masters' scores.

Dan said that he actually prefers 3-Position shooting more than shooting prone, and he usually has a better performance in 3-position shooting.
