Farr finalist Sara Rozanski
Bushmaster-sponsored shooter Sara Rozanski took a minute to talk to us immediately after competing in the Farr Trophy's shoot-off Monday night. She took second place with a score of 92-2X behind Joe Sopko's score of 94-2X. Sara and Michelle Gallagher were the only women to compete in yesterday's shoot-off.
Danielle: How long have you been shooting long range?
Sara: This is my seventh time shooting at a thousand yards.
D: What sorts of challenges do you face at a thousand yards?
S: The challenges are the same -- but they magnify. The wind blows you out much more than at 600 yards so you have to stay on top of it. And it's a lot harder to see the targets. I use a frame hold so I don't even see the target.
D: What were your expectations going into today's shoot-off?
S: Honestly, this is my first shoot-off ... so to hit the paper and do well -- I mean, I did all right.
D: What does it mean to be sponsored by Bushmaster?
S: It helps out a lot because they pick up the tab for a lot things. Up until a month ago, I was on my own paying for everything, and it's amazing the opportunities they provide you with. I'll get to go to other matches in states this year I never would have been able to go to.
D: And where are you from?
S: Fredericksburg, Virginia.
D: Well, if you're ever traveling north, stop in and try out our NRA Range.
