Intern = The Pits

I’ll admit it. The 2008 NRA High Power Rifle Championships will be a first for me. Every time that I’ve covered Camp Perry for the NRA, it has been for Smallbore. Though, as a journalist, I love the fun of learning something new and that’s how I see the coming week.

Right now I’m sitting in the hotel lobby, waiting for the dinner that the NRA will be putting on tonight at the annual POMA conference.

Executive Director of General Operations Kayne Robinson will be speaking. If you’ve never heard Mr. Robinson speak, then you’re missing out. His speeches are very inspirational, and I’m not saying that because he’s my boss.

But I’m digressing.

I’m reading up about pit duty at Perry and I’m wondering if Steve, the intern, acts up, I could assign him to handle the entire pit by himself. Oh, the power of supervising a college student!
