In the August 2008 issue of Law Enforcement Technology, Jonathan Kozlowski talks firearms training for law enforcement. In the story, Kozlowski quotes Mark Peters, a staff instructor in the NRA Law Enforcement Training Department, part of the NRA Law Enforcement Activates Division.
The Law Enforcement Activities Division was established in 1960 specifically to provide the law enforcement community with a certified and standardized firearm instructor training program. Since that time, the NRA has trained more than 50,000 law enforcement firearm instructors and currently have over 12,000 active.
