M1A, the M14's Successful Sibling

Earlier this week, I was brainstorming some ways to promote the M1A match on this blog; however I faced a roadblock because my resources were somewhat limited. I’m currently in South Dakota attending POMA.

I remembered that the American Rifleman published a story about the M1A, so I called up the world’s greatest editor, Mark Keefe, and he sent over the complete text of the story.

Because this was so short notice I couldn’t get the photos that accompanied the story. So, I broke up each section of the story into different posts and below is an index of each section. I hope you enjoy this and I hope to see you this Sunday as the 2nd Annual NRA/Springfield Armory M1A Rifle Match gets underway.

The story is by Daniel T. McElrath. (the author has an awesome first name)

The military may not have liked the M14, but its cousin, the semi-automatic M1A, has been loved by civilian shooters for nearly three decades…
