It’s the second day of the 2008 NRA High Power Rifle Championship. The first day had two familiar names at the top of the leader board. 2007 High Power Champion Carl Bernosky had won the Members Trophy Match (which may change due to a really close tie with GYSG Julia Watson) and the Coast Artillery Trophy Match. G. David Tubb, who’s won more High Power Championships than I've got fingers on my hands, won the Scott Trophy Match.
With three days left of shooting, it’s anyone’s game. Today has the Navy Cup Match, match 44. SYSGT Julia Watson won this in 2007. The course of fire has two sighting shots and 20 shots at 200 yards, slow fire and in the standing position.
The Coast Guard Trophy Match will be the second match fired today. The course of fire is two sighting shots and 20 shots at 200 yards, sitting or kneeling from standing.
The final match that will be fired today is the Army Cup Match. That course of fire includes the two sighting shots and 20 shots for record at 600 yards, slow fire and in the prone position.
