Top Three

Carl Bernosky

With results not final, here are the details of the top three in Match 400, the NRA National High Power Rifle Championships. Then I’ll write about the Special Category winners.

The 2008 National Champion is Carl Bernosky of Ashland, PA. Bernosky shot a 2384-118X. He receives the Mumma Trophy Plaque and a National Champion Medallion. He also receives a $500 VISA gift card. This is his ninth title. He’s the defending high power champion, and first won a high power national championship in 1977, and he went on to win five straight titles.

David Tubb of Canadian, Texas, finishes second after posting a score of 2375-127X. Tubb won a national championship medallion and a $300 VISA gift card. Tubb has won 11 high power national championships.

PFC Sherri J. Hurd of Fort Benning, Georgia, finishes the national championship in third place. She shot 2375-94X. She will take home a national championship medallion and a $200 VISA gift card.

In total, 477 competitors entered in the 2008 national high power championships.
