The America Team Match

There are a couple of matches during the National Fullbore Rifle Prone Championship that stand out due to its prestige. One of which is The America Team Match, to held this Sunday. The National Fullbore Rifle Prone Championship is being held at the George Tubb Range at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.

It’s an international match and from what I’ve heard four or five countries, including the United States will be represented. Each national team will be made up of 15 members including: a captain, vice-captain, main coach, two sub-coaches, eight firers and two reserves. According to the program if one of the firers falls ill and is unable to continue, another member of the team may take his/her place.

Each firing member of the team will fire two sighters and 15 shots at distances from 300, 600, 900 and 1,000 yards.

At this time, the Bald Eagles Rifle Club, who has done an excellent job at posting results on their website, doesn’t have Thursday’s results posted. Tomorrow I will blog about the other important match that will take place on Sunday, the 3rd annual U.S. F-Class International Team Challenge Match.
