The United States F-Class Rifle Team announced that Surgeon Rifles has donated a custom built 6.5 x .284 caliber F-Class Rifle to be raffled off as a means to raise money for the team. John Sigler, National Rifle Association President will be using the rifle while competing at the National Championships in Lodi, Wisconsin.
In July 2009, 35 of America's best F-Class shooters from across the United States will travel to England to face team competition at distances of 600 to 1000 yards in the third World F-Class Long Range Rifle Championships. The United States won the first world championships in 2002 held in Ottawa, Canada, followed by a second place finish in 2005 in South Africa.
"We can't begin to thank Surgeon Rifles enough for their extremely generous donation," stated United States F-Class Rifle Team Robert Bock. "We are very fortunate to have the support of some of the best names in the industry."
Renowned for their tactical sniper rifles, Surgeon Rifles of Prague, OK also builds superb custom rifles for match shooters. Using CNC lathes capable of 0.0001" repeatable accuracy, every rifle that leaves their shop carries a 0.5 MOA guarantee, meaning that they are guaranteed to shoot less than 1/2" groups at a hundred yards. Most of their guns shoot much tighter groups, quite often 1/4".
F-Class is shot from the prone position at distances of 300 to 1,000 yards. In Open Class Competitors may use almost any caliber rifle, a scope, and both front and rear rests. An ideal sport for both male and female competitive shooters, this shooting discipline is unique in the fact that anyone can excel in it, even with little experience.
Components of the rifle were donated by McMillan Stocks, Krieger Barrels, Shilen Triggers, and Leupold scopes. Additionally, Surgeon Rifles developed the ammunition for the rifle and Berger Bullets and Lapua donated the components for the ammunition. "It is our pleasure to support the fastest growing discipline in the shooting industry," said Steve Barrier of Surgeon Rifles. "We wish Mr. Sigler the best of luck in the competition."
Limited numbers of tickets will be available making the chances of winning this gun will be very high. Information about how to win this rifle is available at www.usfclass.com
