The Salem County Sportsmen's Club and South Jersey Sportsmen, Inc., are holding the sixth annual NRA Day on Saturday, October 4th. The family event will be held from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will be a day of recreational shooting instruction featuring the chance to explore various firearms and programs of the NRA's General Operations. The club is located on Route 40, three miles east of Exit 1 off the New Jersey Turnpike.
New shooters are encouraged to stop by the club to learn the basics of firearm safety and technique from NRA-certified instructors.
NRA Day activities to be held include rifle, shotgun and pistol shooting, plus a youth air gun range. All firearms, targets, ammunition, and eye and ear protection will be provided. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Refreshments will be available.
"The purpose of NRA Day is to get new shooters, people who have never tried it before, or people who are trying a different discipline of shooting," said Bob Viden, club spokesperson, NRA Board member, and founder of NRA Day. "The more people we involve in our sport, the stronger the sport is, the stronger the club is, the stronger we are in preserving that right."
